Adapting the techniques of film making to my printmaking has allowed me to treat screen printing as though working with solid film.

Photo

Pinhole photography is perfect for exploring elements of time and the ephemeral as it can record the traces of a passage of time. The longer exposures allow figures to blur and water to become swirling and dream-like, evoking feelings of past moments and wistful remembrance.

About

I am a film maker fascinated by the subjects of time and memory. I attempt to hold myself in a perpetual state of waiting and looking, thereby heightening my senses and helping me to notice chance or quiet moments more easily. My films are often slow in pace or simple in subject, inviting the viewer to enter a space of intimate, meditative contemplation.

My performative works re-enact past memories in the present and frequently become mixed with serendipitous elements of reality in the same non-directed way. I aim for my films to have a quiet stillness, with the goal of drawing the viewer into these small pockets of time.
